About Us

We recognise that:

After 3-6 months all injuries should have healed

Once healed: Pain should subside (joints/muscles relax)

If pain persists, the injury is no longer the main issue

The brain is maintaining pain to protect you

This tells us something has gone wrong

Our job is to find out WHY

Our Story

What Makes Us Different?

Born out of a dissatisfaction with the current methods used to treat those in pain, Cardiff Pain & Performance offers a powerful and innovative approach to those people who are tired of living in pain.

We are proud to work very differently to conventional methods, and are often told by patients “its magic”. Instead of traditional methods such as massage and manipulation (which you may have already tried) we use neurological techniques to assess and find out why your Nervous System is creating pain in your body (not just rubbing the bit that hurts)

As trained Osteopaths, Chiropractors, we found that there was a percentage of patients whereby there was no explanation for why they would not improve.

This led us on a journey to learn from the world’s best experts in Movement, Neurology and Pain. As a result, we have developed a unique process to resolving ongoing Pain and Injuries.

How We Work

Our Unique 5 Step Process

1.
Get A Clear Diagnosis

Determine if you have a Structural problem, such as true damage to a muscle, disc or joint, or a Functional problem, whereby the Scans are clear and there has been no damage, instead the Nervous System is trying to protect you.

2.
Reduce Inflammation

Reduce Inflammation if necessary through Red Light Laser Therapy, Nutritional protocols and lifestyle changes.

3.
De-Sensitise & Treat

De-sensitise the Nervous System by finding areas of past trauma or overuse and 'resetting' the input from this region. This is the main part of the process which is pain free and non invasive. This stops the Brain from trying to protect you and stops muscles/joints from locking up.

4.
Movement Capacity

Teach you how to access all of your movement potential, making sure you can move each joint in every possible direction, improve range of motion and flexibility.

5.
Strength & Wellness

Strengthen up any areas of weakness to 'Bullet-proof' yourself from future damage.

People who come to see us often have:

Thought the pain would go away, but it hasn’t

Tried some exercises, but nothing seems to have helped

Have already seen multiple providers each giving different advice

Been told to Rest and take Painkillers

Have already seen multiple providers each giving different advice

Why do I Hurt?

There are two reasons to get “…..” Pain. Firstly, if there is true damage to the joints, muscles or other hardware structures. This is why the first step in our process is to rule out any Structural issues.

Without the presence of any “Damage” Pain is due to protection of the Brain and Nervous System (Often from Past Injuries).

Pain is here a protective response gone wrong. Our job is to find out why and get you on the road to recovery.
