What is the Force Plate?
The force plate we utilise in the clinic is a tool to help us understand where you put the weight in your feet. Do you distribute your weightload evenly, or is it all in one place? When the brain tries to protect, the weight bearing can change and posture shifts. This puts undue force on muscles and joints and can lead to pain.
By using the measurements on the force plate, we are able to identify what your brain is trying to do, and then move you back towards a more neutral centre of mass.
This will take pressure off muscles and allow more efficient movement to commence.
We utilise the force plate at your Initial Consultation to assess for a baseline, and then re-check throughout the treatment process.
